Salad Stop Manila: the search is over!

You know you’re in your late 20’s / early 30’s when you love eating salads. There are days when it’s all I want to eat – breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s probably my body telling me to detox from all the unhealthy food or because of my changing palette since I started juicing. Whatever the reason, I’ve been in the quest to find the perfect salad bar in Manila for the longest time.

When I was in Singapore, I discovered Salad Stop in Takashimaya during one of our food court dinners. It was on the steeper side price-wise compared to its chicken rice neighbors (around S$14 per salad bowl or wrap). However, their servings are HUGE and sometimes Emman and I would have to share an order. I was instantly hooked on their Cobb Salad Wrap. It’s so satisfying and tasted so fresh at the same time that I didn’t mind gobbling down a whole wrap by myself. Plus they have so many choices on their menu that you’d never get tired of coming back. Can’t really expect nothing less from a company that believes…

“We are not just a food chain. We are a movement that believes it is a basic human right to truly eat well.”

When we decided to move back to Manila after a year of almost weekly Salad Stop runs, it was one of the things I knew I would miss about Singapore (even more than the char kway teow!). So when Emman told me that Salad Stop opened in Manila, you could just imagine the joy (and relief) I felt! I was also pleasantly surprised that the prices here are 50% cheaper than in Singapore. No more suffering through brain-racking moments, thinking of what food I can grab on the go (that does not include a fake-healthy wrap from KFC). No more unsatiated cravings for grease-free, wholesome and filling meals. Because Salad Stop is heeeeere!

Thoroughly enjoying Salad Stop. Pardon the face!

I’m thinking of sticking to reviewing healthy food spots from now on. What do you think? Is it a good idea?
